Anaïs Nin (Spanish pronunciation: [anaˈiz ˈnin]; born Angela Anaïs Juana Antolina Rosa Edelmira Nin y Culmell, February 21, 1903 – January 14, 1977) was a French-Cuban author, based at first in France and later in the United States, who published her journals, which span more than 60 years, beginning when she was 11 years old and ending shortly before her death, her erotic literature, and short stories. A great deal of her work, including Delta of Venusand Little Birds, was published posthumously.
Bohemian as fuck, talented, gorgeous and the effervescent mistress of men like Robert Pole and Henry Miller. Nin challenged the ideas of femininity and women’s sexuality, writing journals and erotica that can only be described as Écriture féminine.Honestly one of my heroes, and one woman that I would gladly have a tempestuous affair with.

i told this guy i was seeing that i wanted to start working out my arms/upper body. i have strong legs from cycling/skating but i have very little upper body strength. having gone through domestic violence and assault, i want stronger arms… i was pinned and my arms were helpless. so i told this guy about how i wanted to start developing my biceps and triceps. and he told me it was gross and no man would be attracted to that… it’s like wtf. oh sorry, i didn’t realize my whole purpose in life was to make yr dick hard. fuck off. lots of men find various bodies attractive in real life, lots of women do too… but the point is my body is not an object to be looked at, desired and fucked. my body is me. it’s my home, transportation, expression, creativity, protection, sexuality, appetite, pleasure, pain, intelligence, it is my physical manifestation in this world. not a thing. not a coathanger. not an ornament. i want to be strong because it would make me feel safer and more capable. i don’t fucking care if he loses his erection.

I want to live in a world where little girls are not pinkified, but where little girls who like pink are not punished for it, either. We can certainly talk about the social pressures surrounding gender roles, and the concerns that people have when they see girls and young women who appear to be forced into performances of femininity by the society around them but let‘s stop acting like they have no agency and free will. Let‘s stop acting like women who choose to be feminine are somehow colluders, betraying the movement, bamboozled into thinking that they want to be feminine. Let‘s stop denying women their own autonomy by telling them that their expressions of femininity are bad and wrong

Demonizing femininity is just another way of saying masculinity is better, which is, surprise, sexist.
